PROGRAMS

Examples of organizations and programs that the Wayzata Sailing Foundation has supported or intends to support:

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA SAILING TEAM (also supported by the University of MN Foundation-501c3) The WSF supports the team by providing funds to help the team improve their coaching, provide reasonable travel expenses, and help with equipment costs. WSF also helps the team sell T shirts, hats, & other items to raise money.

US Junior Olympic Regatta The WSF works with the WYC and LMSS to help raise money and host the regatta, usually every other year. Part of the cost is bringing in a nationally known champion sailor to help coach the youths.

Inner-City Youth Program The WSF works with the WSS, and the Mike Plant fund(a 501c3 non-profit educational fund) to put on a program each year to bring underprivileged children ages 7-12 years to the WYC to experience the thrill of sailing and have with water games.

Twin Cities Youth Sailing Regatta The WSF works with the LMSS and the Minnetonka Yacht Club (non-profit) to help host the annual regatta for youth.

Wayzata Sailing School (WSS)
The new Wayzata Sailing School (a 501C3 non-profit organization), located on the grounds of the Wayzata Yacht Club is an outgrowth of the Foundation's long experience in support youth sailing programs.
