If you missed the Night Crawl, then here’s what you missed: The rain threatened to wash us out but our wishes prevailed and it was a beautiful evening. The food prepared by the Night Crawl Committee received rave reviews, particularly Craig and Beth’s sangria, Karen’s pulled pork and Beth Carpenter’s margarita cupcakes. The decorations created a festive atmosphere, especially Craiggaie’s much-anticipated disco ball. Kathy Wright knocked down the piñata. The club’s new tiki torches burned brightly against the beautiful sky. We were able to see the “Supermoon” against the masts of the sailboats and Mark Puariea took beautiful photos that can be seen on our Facebook Group. While the rain held off for dinner, the weather radar identified a large front moving in that kept the boats in their slips. We honored the curfew and Blake didn't yell at us once! And that’s what you missed.

WYC sailors celebrate each full moon with a social event on the Saturday night closest to the full moon. Night Crawl events begin with dinner at the clubhouse, move onto a sail, and we don't keep track after that. What happens at WYC stays at WYC. So, dress for our theme, bring your appetite, charge your batteries, check your running lights, pack your flashlight and tunes plus fleece or bug spray depending on the weather.
Night Crawls are hosted by Crawladore Teri Ross, Rear Crawladore Craiggae, and the Night Crawl committee.
- All fleets and guests are welcome
- Either sign up for the group meal (payment above), or BYO food. Drinks provided to all.
- Meet at WYC around 6pm
- Sailing start time is sunset, or whenever you feel like it. Please sign up to be sure you get on a boat and to be sure you get back to the dock at your desired time.
*** In consideration of our neighbors, returning boats should keep noise to an absolute minimum. Late-night conversations within ear-shot of Blake are especially to be avoided. Boats that violate this provision may unexpectedly find themselves scored OCS the following day and/or be forced to walk the plank ;-)
